Challange #2, Day 2

This is a daily update in a series of blog posts for the challange we recently took with my wife. Our goal is to make us think before praising our son, think if it’s reasonable or what impact it may have. How did we do on Day #2?

Quite good I must say. I don’t think I praised him for no reason today- actually I think there was no reason for praising today at all. I double checked that with my wife- she has same experience this far. Sure, it may get hard with time – as the baby grows, but if we adopt the technique early, it may be easier later.

Now don’t get me wrong- it’s not like we’re not interested in what our baby is doing or not spending time with him. That’s not even close. We’re having loads of fun! Lots of baby-talk! Just not some silly “oh you’re so cute, you’re so fine”- we actually ask him questions, try to guess what he is saying, explain things to him etc. Let’s see how we’ll do next- I think the tooth is coming…
